Residents carry the Sagora Senior Olympic Games torch at Rio Terra
Let the Senior Games begin! While the world anticipates the opening ceremonies for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, residents of Rio Terra, a Sagora Senior Living community in New Braunfels, Texas, prepare for the opening day celebration of Sagora Senior Games beginning August 5th. The ceremony kicks off 27 days of fun, competitive activities among residents ranging in age from 55 to 106 years. Sagora Olympic Games include bowling, golf, horseshoes, pool volleyball, paintball shooting, and more. Participants excelling in their event will receive bronze, silver and gold medals, with bragging rights included for a lifetime.
Each activity will ignite the spirit of the Olympics by building a sense of team solidarity, individual fitness, and hope within the community. Sagora believes an active lifestyle leads to optimal health for its residents spanning 24 communities and four states. Rio Terra challenges each Sagora Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care community to carry the torch in making this year’s Senior Games an exciting and rewarding time for residents and associates.
