Meet Our Residents

Meet some of the seniors who are proud to call The Brennity at Daphne “home.” Scroll down to see what they say about living here, and become more familiar with the residents we serve.

Meet Warren

Warren moved into The Brennity at Daphne in 2014 after visiting a few other retirement communities. He fell in love with the land our community is on, the views from the available apartments, and the food. After one meal and one tour of the grounds, he was hooked and decided to move in, and he couldn’t be happier.

Warren’s passion is flying planes, and he even took aerial photos of our beautiful community to show off to his friends. His greatest accomplishment is that he is still able to fly planes at the age of 91! He says playing games has helped him to keep his mind active, and he attributes his healthy mind to much that he is able to accomplish in life. He also has a profound faith which helps him get through any struggles he’s had in his life.

Living at The Brennity at Daphne allows Warren to receive some day-to-day assistance while still being as independent as possible. He enjoys the associates and caretakers at our community, and his pleasant demeanor and welcoming smile ensures that we all have bright days!

“I love living at The Brennity at Daphne with wonderful neighbors who have become great friends to me. Living here allows me to be closer to my family as well, so I can see them quite often.” – Warren, Resident at The Brennity at Daphne since 2014

Meet Polly

Polly has been a resident at The Brennity At Daphne since 2013, and much like a piece of art, the appreciation for her only continues to grow. Polly made the decision to move into The Brennity at Daphne after her son and daughter-in-law visited many senior living communities in Baldwin County and decided they all liked The Brennity at Daphne best. Polly has enjoyed living at our community, meeting new friends, enjoying the chef-prepared meals and the beautiful grounds.

Polly has had a love of painting since she was in grammar school in Castleberry, Alabama. She used to draw on the chalkboards, and her teacher would call the other teachers in to see her drawings. In the early ’70s, Polly took a year of art lessons. She then turned a room in her house into a studio where she practiced her craft and exercised a passion of hers. Since then, Polly has painted with oils, pastels and some watercolors. Her paintings include one of Jesus, which is hanging in her church in Loxley, Alabama, portraits of her grandchildren, paintings of a sailboats, her grandfather’s cabin and various animals. Needles to say, Polly is quite the well-rounded individual when it comes to artistic talent! She continues to paint today and has shared her love of art with the other residents at The Brennity at Daphne. Her other interests include clay sculpting, crewel embroidery and working on her family’s genealogy.

Due to her friendly and endearing personality, Polly has agreed to showcase some of her art for our community to enjoy, in addition to giving many to her family, stating “my pictures are now with my children, and I am proud that they are hanging in their homes.” Polly shows the true signs of an artist, in that she receives joy from others who enjoy her works of art.

Polly’s passion for art has helped many of our residents become interested in increasing their creativity, and for that we are incredibly thankful. Thank you, Polly, for bringing such a wonderfully creative and artistic spirit to our community!

The nursing team takes very good care of me, and all of the associates here are very helpful.
-Polly, The Brennity at Daphne resident since 2013.
