We have an Independent Living resident at the community who has a positive case of COVID-19 as of yesterday, July 7, 2020.
This resident is receiving care and has been quarantined away from the community. We are currently reporting, partnering and communicating with the local health department and the Texas Department of State Health Services. We will continue to follow the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and are taking precautions to ensure the health and safety of our associates and residents.
We also have an associate who tested positive today, July 8. This associate has not worked in the community since July 5, 2020. Per the requirements of the CDC, local health department and our own protocols, associates who receive a positive result will be quarantined for 14 days away from the community and will be required to receive two negative test results in addition to not having any symptoms of the virus before returning to work.
As of the time of this statement, we are not aware of any other residents or associates with a possible or positive case of COVID-19. We will continue to prohibit families, volunteers and non-essential providers from visiting as put into effect on Friday, March 13, 2020. As of April 8, 2020, we are also requiring all associates and essential visitors to always wear surgical masks and other Personal Protective Equipment when in the community.
We will continue to post updates as they arise via social media and internal communications with our associates, residents and their responsible parties.
