Rio Terra residents support New Braunfels citizens
New Braunfels, TX, October 10, 2016 – The residents of Sagora Senior Living community, Rio Terra, support the community in a campaign to “Give Back.” The retirement community launched this initiative to show appreciation to organizations that make a positive impact on society, improving the lives of New Braunfels citizens. The senior residents started with the most honorable candidates – first responders.
First responders of New Braunfels serve over 70,000 residents, contributing to the overall quality of life in the growing city. “It is such a privilege to be able to show our thanks for all these guys do,” says Patty Glenn, Rio Terra resident. A team of residents delivered snacks and beverages along with personalized thank you cards to local firefighters and police officers. Rio Terra’s chef prepared Rio Ruff Ruff treats to reward the top dogs in the K-9 division for their hard work. Furthermore, all area first responders are invited to enjoy a free meal with Rio Terra residents every second Thursday of every month.
In the heart of giving back, the residents held a fundraiser to benefit the Crisis Center of Comal County. They presented a check for $360 to the organization in appreciation of their dedication to providing a safe environment to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Rio Terra residents expressed pride in being able to serve those who assist others in need.
Paying it forward is mutually rewarding as senior residents gain a sense of involvement and recipients feel more fulfilled in their service to the community. New Braunfels is a better place to live because of its first responders, charities, and retired citizens of Rio Terra who give back.
