Super Bowl Shrimp Tacos Recipe

Looking for a delectable dish to bring to your Super Bowl party, try these Shrimp Tacos! This recipe makes 48 orders (2 tacos each).


6 lbs. – 41/50 P&D Tail Off Shrimp

4 tbsp. – Minced Garlic

3 bunches – Chopped Cilantro

1 lb. – Minced Red Onion

6 – Roasted/ Peeled and Small Dice Pablano Pepper

1 Quart – Heavy Cream

4 oz. – Tequila

1 tbsp. – Cayenne Pepper

2 oz. – Shrimp Base

2 lbs. – Shredded Pepper Jack

4 oz. – Clarified Butter

Salt and Pepper

96 – #6 Flour Tortillas

Roux as needed


Place heavy cream and shrimp base in a pot and bring to simmer, be sure that base is incorporated into the cream. Add roux and thicken to cream sauce consistency. Add clarified butter to a hot tilt skillet, then add onions and peppers, stir until onions are brown, then add garlic, and cilantro. Deglaze with Tequila. Add shrimp and cook half way through. Drain off excess liquid and add cream sauce. Adjust seasonings. Place on sheet pans with parchment paper and cool in walk-in cooler until ready to serve. In a saute pan, reheat 6 oz. of the mixture to order, add this mixture to two warm tortillas with shredded pepper jack cheese to serve.
