Know the F.A.S.T. symptoms associated with stroke and tips for preventing a stroke shared by the National Stroke Foundation.

Face drooping: Does one side of the face droop or feel numb? Is the person’s smile uneven?

Arm weakness: Is one arm weak or numb? Does one arm drift downward?

Speech difficulty: Is speech slurred? Is the person unable to speak or hard to understand?

Time to call for help: Get the person to the hospital immediately.

  • Maintain a healthy blood pressure
  • Monitor your cholesterol
  • Limit calorie intake
