At Sagora Senior Living we are excited to celebrate Black History Month! We honor the rich cultural heritage, triumphs and adversities that are an integral part of our country’s history. During February we will feature different spotlight stories of our residents and team members around the nation. Stay tuned to our social media channels to learn of impactful stories, experiences, and the ways that we embrace diversity within our communities.
Our first feature is of our team member Jeffery M Hall, Regional Director of Operations for the Sagora Senior Living Here For You program. Jeffery is a native of Chicago, IL and was born and raised there. He graduated from Southern Illinois University where he met his beautiful wife of 10 years. They have two amazing children, Jeffery Carter Hall (14) and Zara Simone Hall (8). He played college football as a wide receiver during his collegiate career and now enjoys coaching youth basketball and watching Marvel films.
His career began in the St. Louis market where he started in traditional retail operations. Due to his family all being clinicians, the want and urge to help people consumed him. He was awarded an opportunity to jump into the healthcare arena with one of the biggest healthcare systems in St. Louis. This is where his love for healthcare and the senior population emerged and grew. He then embarked on a career journey within senior primary care and living, specializing in home care and value based care.
Sagora Senior Living has become a second family to Jeffery. He and his family were relocated to Texas a little over a year and a half ago to launch a new market with a different company. Due to restructuring he was asked to move to the Atlanta market, which would prove to be extremely difficult for his family who had now began to sew roots in the Texas region. He elected to stay in Texas and connected with Sagora Senior Living. He was immensely intrigued by the Here For You program and the immediate impact, not only our residents but the communities that we serve – partnering to keep residents and their families happy and healthy.
The Here For You program assists residents so they can stay at home longer and maintain an independent lifestyle. Here For You is a private duty home care assistance program that can help you with a range of daily tasks. From showering assistance to grocery shopping, from medication management to assistance with laundry, we’re Here For You every step of the way. We strive to enrich the lives of those who live and work with us by responding to their unique needs and universal desire for dignity and respect.
Here For You is not only partnering with community marketing to grow occupancy, but also journeying into the community to provide these services to the senior population outside of the Sagora Senior Living communities. We are excited to announce that our Here For You program will be entering our Elison Park Glen Orchard community this year.
There is no shortage of words that Jeffery can use to describe what Black History Month Means to him. Black History Month is an opportunity to proudly shine a light on the Black diaspora’s multifaceted histories and unsung historical figures. BHM encourages us to recognize our past, evaluate our present, and plan for our future. Lastly, it galvanizes and serves as a reminder of the tremendous work we have to continue to do all year to break barriers and succeed in every field of human endeavor.
