Meet Brittanie Gathright, Lifestyle Director for Landon Ridge Alamo Ranch Independent Living in San Antonio, Texas. She has held this position at the community for six years and says that working with seniors fills her with a sense of purpose.
“Seniors have so much wisdom to offer from their life experiences – having the opportunity to have a front seat to gain their wealth of knowledge is everything,” she says.

“One of the most important factors in a senior living community is to provide an environment where residents feel comfortable enough to let their hair down and just have fun!” says Brittanie. “We’ve made dressing up for events into something that our residents and associates really look forward to. The anticipation of what we might do next keeps things exciting for our residents.”
Landon Ridge Alamo Ranch Independent Living has featured events like the annual Sagora Senior Games – Olympic style athletic events catered to the fitness level of our residents, national day celebrations such as National Donut Day – complete with a donut wall, and even an Elvis-themed COVID-19 vaccination clinic!
“I take pride in the pictures that my team and I take because a picture is truly worth a million words. They aren’t just pictures in my eyes – they’re memories that residents and their families can enjoy forever!” says Brittanie.
Her bond with the community’s residents is apparent through photos and Brittanie says that bond is her favorite part of the job. “I love to see our residents take part in our themed events. I just adore when they showcase their talents because not only does it give our communities’ visions a reality, it also provides purpose to our other residents and our associates as well. That’s really just priceless to me.”
