Landon Ridge Sugar Land Assisted Living & Memory Care resident Jane B. prides herself on her organizational abilities.
That was what helped her get her start in the world of politics, where she served as a campaign organizer during several successful runs for office. It’s what she’s good at, she says, and it’s what has helped her throughout her life.
So, what did she do when she got to Landon Ridge Sugar Land Assisted Living & Memory Care more than two years ago? Well, she did what she says she’s best at – organized. Jane continued to organize support groups that connected the community’s residents, letting them share their experiences with one another and deal with tough situations together.
That openness is what Jane likes best about Landon Ridge Sugar Land Assisted Living & Memory Care. Her fellow residents aren’t afraid to be themselves and they aren’t afraid to reach out to those around them.
“What I love most is the friendliness of the associates and residents,” she said.
Jane has never been one to shy away from new experiences and certainly never been one to turn down an adventure. Sometimes, they would take her to newfound destinations and remote corners of the world. One such adventure was a l
ong-distance motorcycle trip with her husband. Jane counts it among her favorite memories.
That trip provided the foundation for what she says is a fun fact about her life.
“I have been to every state in the union, Nova Scotia and Canada,” she said.
Whether it be on campaign trips or from the seat of a motorcycle, Jane has seen
a lot of the world, meeting quite a few people along the way. One of the takeaways from her travels serves as a piece of advice for the younger generations, people who are looking to become successful in their fields.
“Learn as much as you can about your subject and be willing to share it with the community,” Jane said.
