Sagora Associate Pantry: Helping Our Associates Get the Essentials They Need
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many grocery stores throughout the nation are experiencing empty shelves as Americans stock their pantries for the practice of self-quarantine and social distancing. Our Sagora Senior Living leadership team took notice of this and stepped up to help our associates with a community pantry stocked with the essentials.
Currently being piloted at Adante Senior Living in San Antonio, Texas, the Sagora Associate Pantry is a program that makes grocery shopping convenient for our associates to find the essential items that many stores are quickly running out of including toilet paper, bread, milk and eggs. It also eliminates the need for our associates to go to the grocery store and other public places which will in turn, keep our residents safer and ultimately keep us at our goal of zero presumptive or positive cases of COVID-19 in our communities.
So, how does the program work? Our associates will take orders from the Sagora Associate Pantry the day before a supply truck comes in. Our associates will pre-pay for the items they need and will be given pick-up times to receive them. If any associates cannot afford particular items, we will work with them for Sagora Senior Living to cover the cost.
We’re all in this together and we hope that this program will help our associates and alleviate any stress of having to go to public places to shop. While we are currently piloting this program at Adante Senior Living, we are hoping to extend it to our other communities within the coming weeks.
