At Sagora Senior Living we are constantly creating new experiences to engage our residents and find exciting ways to showcase how amazing they are and how much fun we have! This fall we embarked on a new contest and are excited to share the winner with you.
In honor of The Bachelor’s first senior bachelor, the ‘Golden Bachelor’, Sagora was on the hunt for our own Sagora Silver Bachelor. We are excited to share that the first official Sagora Silver Bachelor has been nominated!
When we started our hunt, we asked our team members to nominate eligible bachelors from their Independent Living communities. We received many nominees and through our blog and social media pages we showcased our final six bachelors from across the nation. We opened the voting polls and let our communities, families, and team members decide the winner.
Our bachelors were:

Frank Y. of Ansel Park Independent Living | Rocklin, CA
Gene P. of Lakestone Terrace Senior Living | Granbury, TX
John B. of Bellarose Senior Living | Tulsa, OK
Lynn C. of Elison Independent & Assisted Living of Maplewood | Bridgeport, WV
William ‘Fitz’ of Waterview The Point | Granbury, TX
Each bachelor answered questions about himself, submitted a photo, and the voting began. We had nearly 1,000 votes cast and while it was a close race at times in the end the handsome and sweet Frank Y. of Ansel Park Independent Living in Rocklin, CA won the title of the Sagora Silver Bachelor!
True to Frank’s character he was humbled and honored to win and was very thankful for all who voted for him. In addition to receiving bragging rights as the Sagora Silver Bachelor, Frank won a beautiful bouquet of red roses (which is only fitting to stay true to the show “The Bachelor”), dinner for two out on the town, chocolates, and two tickets to a movie of his choice. Frank took a dear lady friend with him and of course shared his roses with her! Ansel Park Independent Living even hosted a ceremony for him. Frank had a wonderful time enjoying his winnings and even had some words of wisdom to share. You can see the full recap on our social media pages.
We would like to give a huge round of applause and congratulations to the 5 additional nominees. These handsome and caring gentlemen were such wonderful individuals to showcase, and they truly demonstrate how amazing our residents are! While they didn’t win this year, there is always a shot at being next year’s Sagora Silver Bachelor as we will for sure continue this tradition. We would also like to thank our team members and communities for getting involved and having fun with this contest.
