Sagora Silver Bachelorette Winner!

Sagora Silver Bachelorette Winner!
At Sagora Senior Living we are constantly creating new experiences to engage our residents and find exciting ways to showcase how amazing they are and how much fun we have! This winter we embarked on a new contest and are excited to share the winner with you.
In honor of The Bachelor’s first senior bachelor, the ‘Golden Bachelor’, Sagora went on the hunt for our own Sagora Silver Bachelor, and we announced in October that Frank Y. of Ansel Park Independent Living in Rocklin, CA won the title of the Sagora Silver Bachelor! Of course, you can’t have a Silver Bachelor without a Silver Bachelorette! We are excited to share that the first official Sagora Silver Bachelorette has been nominated!
When we started our hunt, we asked our team members to nominate eligible bachelorettes from their Independent Living communities. We received many nominees and through our blog and social media pages we showcased our final seven bachelorettes from across the nation. We opened the voting polls and let our communities, families, and team members decide the winner.
Our bachelorettes were:
Clare R. of The Brennity at Tradition | Port St. Lucie, FL

Ana Marie A. of Landon Ridge Alamo Ranch Independent Living | San Antonio, TX

Sue E. of University Place Independent Living | Abilene, TX

Dorothy R. of Bristol Park at Eagle Mountain | Fort Worth, TX

Jimmy M. of Lynridge Assisted Living & Memory Care | Murphy, TX

Christina W. of Brayden Park Assisted Living & Memory Care | San Angelo, TX

Kathy G. of Elison Independent Living of Orchard Glen | Orchard Park, NY
Each bachelorette answered questions about herself, submitted a photo, and the voting began. We had nearly 1,000 votes cast and while it was a close race at times in the end the beautiful and sweet Dorothy R. of Bristol Park at Eagle Mountain in Fort Worth, TX won the title of the Sagora Silver Bachelorette!

True to Dorothy’s character she was humbled and honored to win and was very thankful for all who voted for her. In addition to receiving bragging rights as the Sagora Silver Bachelorette, Dorothy won a beautiful bouquet of red roses (which is only fitting to stay true to the show “The Bachelor”), dinner for two out on the town, chocolates, and two tickets to a movie of her choice. Dorothy is still deciding who to take with her to dinner and a movie, but when she decides we will be sure to share all the details of their fun filled evening on our social media page!
Dorothy is a true beacon of Eagle Mountain, her active engagement in the community and dedication to family highlight her deserving nature for admiration and care. Her community thinks of her as one of the shining lights at Eagle Mountain! She is very active in and around the community and enjoys socializing over a puzzle, playing BINGO, and attending each event with her family. Sue is adored by all, and they feel blessed to have her as a resident! When asked what she is most proud of, she says it is her family! She is the matriarch of her family with two daughters, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren who she loves very much. She is a cancer survivor who has lived in Texas for over 50 years! What an amazing lady – we are honored to have Dorothy as our first Sagora Silver Bachelorette!
We would like to give a huge round of applause and congratulations to the 6 additional nominees. These beautiful and caring ladies were such wonderful individuals to showcase, and they truly demonstrate how amazing our residents are! While they didn’t win this year, there is always a shot at being next year’s Sagora Silver Bachelorette as we will for sure continue this tradition. We would also like to thank our team members and communities for getting involved and having fun with this contest.
As we continue to congratulate Dorothy on becoming the Sagora Silver Bachelorette, we are already thinking up ways to possibly have a meet up for our Bachelorette and Bachelor. Stayed tuned for more fun in 2024!
